Community Helpers Story Time Series
Aimed at children 4 years old to 8 years old, our Community Helpers Story Time Series heads into the community with story times at the places that help keep our Wellsville neighborhoods safe and thriving. Families will have the opportunity to hear stories while learning about the important work that community helpers such as firefighters, police officers, and even airport workers do.
This special story time series gives children an engaging way to connect books with real-life experiences and become familiar with the people who serve the Wellsville community every day.
The dates and locations are as follows:
Thursday, 9/10 @ 4:00PM: Wellsville Fire Department – 40 S Main St, Wellsville
Thursday, 9/17 @ 4:00PM: Wellsville Police Department – 46 S Main St, Wellsville
Thursday, 9/24 @ 4:00PM: Wellsville Airport – 2600 Tarantine Blvd, Wellsville
Story Time
Join us every Friday morning at 10:30AM for story time!
Our story times give children and their caregivers an interactive way to learn, play, and connect together. Each program includes the five basic practices of Every Child Ready to Read—reading, writing, singing, talking, and playing—helping children develop the foundations they will need to become successful readers before starting school, all while strengthening the caregiver-child bond.
Through shared books, songs and rhymes, conversations, movement, and playful activities, caregivers support their children’s early literacy development. Additionally, story time creates opportunities for caregivers and children to explore new concepts and ideas, learn new words to expand their vocabulary, and use their imaginations.
Ms. George Read Aloud
Join us for a special read aloud and craft session from Ms. George, a Wellsville Elementary School PE Teacher and recently published author! Ms. George will read her new book, “The Day the Balls Went on Strike”. For kids ages 5-10. Snacks will be provided!
