Online Learning

The following websites offer online learning classes and resources. Some are free and some charge a fee but may have some free classes.

  • Gcflearnfree – Many free basic skills classes are available for the computer, jobs, and personal finance. This is a site we recommend in Tech Lab to learn new programs or for a quick review.
  • Webucator – This site offers many self-paced technical classes for library patrons. These are free with a voucher number which must be obtained by using the form here. There are courses available for Microsoft Office, WordPress, HTML, CSS, Photoshop, and more. Other courses are available for a fee.
    1. Go to our Self-paced Courses page.
    2. Scroll down on the page and find the course you are interested in.
    3. Click the Register button.
    4. Fill out your information.
    5. Change Payment Method to “Webucator Vouchers”.
    6. Enter voucher number.
  • Khan Academy – Free courses for school students from kindergarten to high school. Some computer programming, math, science, test prep for SAT, and more. For teachers, parents and students.
  • W3schools – Free courses on building websites using html, css, javascript, and more programming languages.
  • TechBoomers – Courses for older adults and other inexperienced technology users on social websites, shopping online, online entertainment, and technology basics.
  • DuoLingo – Learn a language for free online. Spanish, French, German, Russian, and many more languages are available.
